HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

So it is now 3 in the afternoon New Year's Eve here in London. Which means it is already New Year's Day back at home. I did have a drink to celebrate but have decided to take it slowly this afternoon if I plan on being awake and conscious when the New Year arrives here.

Today hasn't been too exciting yet. We made a trip down to the supermarket to get food and supplies for tonight (in other words stock up on alcohol). Martina's housemates and a few of her school friends are coming over, not too sure if we'll all fit in the apartment, so we'll just be drinking and celebrating here. We may head out to a local pub if we're feeling up for it but I doubt that.

The weather here is not too bad. When we arrived in London yesterday the temperature was actually above 0 which was a nice change. It's almost hot compared to Sweden!!! I've surprised myself with how much I'm actually enjoying the cold weather. It's quite fun and not to mention bearable when you have a nice warm coat and boots. The houses in London however just don't compare with the Swedish houses. The Swedes definitely know how to make their houses livable and comfortable to live in in winter. Their heating is great. Jumpers, slippers and warm clothes are still required to survive the much cooler indoors here in London.

With the limited time I have here, on this trip at least, my days are pretty jam packed. I managed to get in contact with my cousin Bria who lives in Great Missenden so I'm off to visit her, her husband Steve and their new little addition to the family, Toby tomorrow. So that should be great to see them and be one of the first relatives on our side of the family to meet little Toby.

I've also been in touch with my friend Kat who is also over here at the minute visiting family. She's coming to stay just near me on Friday and Saturday so I'm hoping to go sight-seeing with her and maybe even go and experience the nightlife in London, because Martina isn't really a fan of the clubs here. But we'll see how we go and how we're feeling.

Then Saturday I'm heading back to Sweden.

So it'll be a fun packed next few days. But for now I wish you all and Happy New Year and hope that 2009 is a great year for you all. I'm off to go and grab myself a drink, because I'm sure it's New Year's Day somewhere in the world. I'll speak to you all in 2009.

Puss och Kram
